Guru in Sanskrit means teacher and Vandana means salutations. Guru Vandana means ‘reverence for the teacher’ and is an expression of love and gratitude towards one’s Guru. It means to honor the teacher for imparting knowledge and wisdom to his students.
Every year September 5 is celebrated as Teachers Day in India. The day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s first Vice-President and second President. He was a celebrated academic and recipient of Bharat Ratna.
Honoring the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Pranav Foundation, Bengaluru in association with RV Institute of Management, Bengaluru recently organized an event titled “Guru Vandana -2022,” a Teachers Felicitation program as a Tribute to the teachers who shape the lives of the children of the country.
The First Edition of Guru Vandana-2022 introduced two titles RV Pranav “Vidya Ratna” and “Maha Guru” to be conferred upon the true achievers contributing to the society in the field of Education.
The Guest of Honours for the evening were Padmashree Manjamma Jogathi and Honourable MP Bengaluru South Shri Tejasvi Surya. Also present our guests for the evening Shri MP Shyam, President of RSST and Shri Ranganath Prasad, Advisory Board Member for Pranav Foundation.
The event commenced with a musical performance by Violinist Shreyas followed by a welcome dance by the little wonder Miss Samanvi performing a Shiva Tandava and a group dance by Bhairava Dance Crew.
The program witnessed conferring the title of the year RV Pranav “Vidya Ratna” -2022 to our Padmashree recipient Shri Harekala Hajabba for his tireless efforts to set up a School at New Padupu, Harekala by the Chief Guests and acknowledged by the audience with Standing Ovation. The winners of the “Maha Guru” – 2022 are CM Nagaraj, Mrs Sowbhagyalakshmi, Mrs Shylaja N, Mrs Amreen Taj, Mrs H Ambrani, Mrs Padmini S for the dedication and contribution to education.
Special moments of the program were the candid conversation with the guests about their life and some inspirational words to the teaching community gathered at the auditorium.
The final highlight is the felicitation of all the teachers who were self- nominated and some who were nominated for the event.
Teachers and school administrators appreciated the event as it helped them understand the significance and revolution of new age education. Many teachers will be happy to be part of Guru Vandana next year too.
