ENVIRONMENT

Projects & Volunteering Activities

At Pranav Foundation, our mission to cultivate a healthier environment is at the core of our journey. Since our inception, our primary focus has been on providing conducive living conditions and striving to make the environment hygienic and worthy for all. A significant portion of the donations we receive is dedicated to diverse initiatives aimed at creating a healthier environment and a better world.

Aligned with our mission, we take crucial steps to scientifically restore ponds, lakes, and parks, supporting vital life forms across ecosystems. Recognizing the importance of mitigating harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, we actively research and implement effective strategies with the support of our dedicated team and your contributions.

Our future plans include impactful activities such as clean water and sanitation initiatives, plantation drives, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, waste management, and more. These endeavors aim to address critical environmental challenges, aligning with our vision for a sustainable and thriving world. Together, with your support, we strive to preserve the sanctity of our environment and ensure a healthier, sustainable future for all.”

WASH - WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE

An initiative by the World Health Organization (WHO)

Pranav Foundation’s WASH initiatives have made a significant impact, benefiting over 25 government schools in Karnataka. Our key programs focus on installing RO Water Plants, distributing sustainable reusable pads, and raising hygiene awareness among school children. Over the past three years, our team has diligently worked to reach school children through these initiatives. Starting in 2021, our school programs began with distributing pads to 65 girls in a government school in Bangalore, which has now expanded to over 700 girls in the last two years. In 2023, we initiated the installation of RO Water Plants in 15 government schools, benefiting over 5000 children. Our experienced trainers continue to create awareness about water, sanitation, and hygiene, emphasizing the importance of WASH in government schools.

Looking ahead, our future plan includes implementing sanitation facilities in schools in rural villages wherever necessary, furthering our commitment to improving WASH conditions for all children. We aim to ensure that every child has access to clean water, proper sanitation, and hygiene education, enabling them to lead healthier lives and excel in their studies. By focusing on these fundamental aspects of well-being, we believe we can make a lasting impact on the health and education outcomes of children in rural communities.

SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN

Embarking on a relentless pursuit of environmental excellence since 2021, Pranav Foundation stands at the forefront of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, weaving a narrative of impactful change. Our commitment goes beyond mere cleanliness; it’s a promise to nurture sustainable communities for a greener and healthier tomorrow.
In the heart of Agara Gram Panchayath, we adopted four villages – Lakshmipura, Vaderahalli, Navagrama, Saludoddi – comprising 800+ houses. Recognizing the absence of proper water management systems, our dedication unfolded in transformative ways. Initiating with the elimination of the garbage issue, we deployed two electric autos for daily garbage collection, reshaping waste management dynamics. Now, our electric autos efficiently sweep through each of the 800 houses every alternate day, turning waste into a resource for change.
Taking a step further in our sustainable journey, we established an organic manure conversion tank near the village, efficiently managing wet waste. This endeavor not only averages 400kg per month but also translates into a remarkable reduction of 0.7 to 1.7 tons of CO2 emissions for every ton of waste. As Pranav Foundation continues to tread the path of environmental guardianship, our actions echo the sentiment that every effort counts in building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for all. Join us on this transformative journey towards a greener tomorrow.

SEED FOR 2030

Pranav Foundation has set a goal to plant around 1,000,000 trees by the end of 2030 through its “SEED FOR 2030” project. Since its inception in 2021, the Foundation has been actively engaged in sapling activities in urban schools and the peri-urban areas of Bangalore. The focus is not just on planting trees but also on maintaining the entire plantation for a minimum period of 3 years. These activities are part of a broader project aimed at creating sustainable forests in Bangalore and wherever land is available. Pranav Foundation has collaborated with educational institutions and NSS Units to implement these sapling activities. To date, over 1200 saplings have been planted in Sullia Taluk, Bangalore Urban, and Rural districts. In 2024-25, the Foundation plans to plant 25,000 saplings with support from corporate companies.

Deforestation is a critical issue that affects the environment and biodiversity. By planting trees and creating sustainable forests, Pranav Foundation’s “SEED FOR 2030” project is actively combating deforestation. Trees play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide, purifying the air, and providing a habitat for wildlife. They also help in preventing soil erosion and maintaining the ecological balance. Through its tree planting initiative, Pranav Foundation is not only contributing to the environment but also creating green spaces that benefit the community and future generations.
