International Women’s Day (IWD) is a globally celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socio-economic achievements of women. The theme for this year’s Walkathon was #BreaktheBias, and women from all around Bengaluru donned pink t-shirts and put on their walking shoes to complete a 3K walk to show our support and admiration for women. Following the walkathon was the felicitation of some of the women achievers in the for the year 2021 which identified some women entrepreneurs, proprietors, business women, blue collared women and many others. The primary goal of this gathering is to encourage women’s empowerment. We urge the government to implement a variety of programmes aimed at increasing women’s literacy and making them economically viable. Every woman should remember the three mantras of fitness, nutrition, and hygiene in order to tackle many of the problems that arise in her life. Our supporters for the event were Kolors, Megha Agrotech Pvt Ltd, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Nari Shakthi, Akshaya kalpa and many others.
